The Character of a Leader, Day 1
Take a timeout today, read some scripture, answer some questions and get to know God more.
One of the greatest leaders in Scripture is Moses. God selected Moses to lead the Israelites out of slavery and into the Promised Land. One of Moses’ responsibilities was to appoint other leaders. God calls leaders to be people of character who are known for such qualities such as wise, discerning, and respectful-‐ to name a few. These 3 were also the 3 specific qualities that Moses valued in leadership as well. God is looking to build these leadership traits in us, which run contrary to the world’s view of leadership. Read the following verse, that actually shows us where God says this to Moses
Read: Deuteronomy 1:13
13 “Choose some well-respected men from each tribe who are known for their wisdom and understanding, and I will appoint them as your leaders.”
Answer Some Questions:
Who are some “well-respected” people in your life?
Why would you consider them “well-respected”?
Are any of these people leaders in some way? (at their workplace, their church, in school, in their home?)
Would you also say that these people are known for their wisdom and understanding?
What qualities can you ask God to help build up in you as well, to be a better leader someday or maybe even right now?
