Forgiveness, Day 5
Take a timeout today, read some scripture, answer some questions and get to know God more.
Read: James 5:16
16 “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”
Answer Some Questions:
Confessing + praying with others, is a great first step in learning to continually walk in the victory of forgiveness. After all, forgiveness + healing aren’t just one time events, they are ongoing processes. Here’s a great idea for how to pray…
1.) Start by asking God to bring people to your mind, that you need to forgive.
2.) As you begin to think of them, write their names down on a sheet of paper.
3.) Underneath this list of names…write down this prayer of forgiveness + pray it every day this week!…
“Jesus, I choose to forgive (insert persons name) for (insert what they did) and for it making me feel (insert painful feeling). Jesus, I choose not to hold onto my resentment, I let go of seeking revenge and ask you to heal my damaged emotions. Thank you for setting me free from the bondage of my bitterness. I now ask you Jesus to bless those who have hurt me. In Jesus name I pray; Amen.”
